Red hot lava spewed from a volcano near Philippine capital Manila on Monday (January 12, 2020) as tens of thousands of people fled through heavy ash and tremors. Authorities made plans to evacuate hundred of thousand more people. Clouds of ash from Taal volcano reached Manila, 40 miles north. There were no immediate reports of any deaths or major damage directly blamed on eruption. The government reported more than 30,000 villagers fled their homes.
